Vaishnaw Rules Out Trade Talks At WEF; Assures India's Engagement With Major Economies On All Fronts
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the World Economic Forum at Davos is primarily a platform for exchanging ideas, not for formal trade negotiations. He clarified that while India remains deeply engaged with major global economies, trade talks take place through separate, structured processes. Vaishnaw noted that amid global uncertainty, India is widely seen as a trusted and stable partner with clear policies and long-term vision. He highlighted global recognition of Indian talent across sectors such as AI, semiconductors, solar energy, and healthcare. India’s innovation-driven, inclusive technology model, including digital public infrastructure and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, is drawing international attention. He added that India’s healthcare platforms and focus on predictive, preventive care could offer affordable, scalable solutions globally.
