Amit, a lawyer from Sangli and Kaustubh a journalist from Goa move into an unfurnished two-bedroom apartment in Pune with nothing but a couple of suitcases, some kitchenware and two mattresses. Samar, a political activist who also runs his family matrimonial service business; Akshay, an IITian working at an investment bank; and Sanika, an engineer with family money struggling to find her passion, are Kaustubh and Amit's family away from home. Together, these five constitute an unlikely cake - the cherry to which is their mysterious and eccentric neighbour - Pandey. Their story begins with an empty apartment which, over a span of three years, becomes a fully functioning house. They start to fill the house with the things they need - one by one - sometimes by working hard, sometimes by chance and sometimes with a little help from their friends. 39 objects - each with a memory associated with it enters this house in each of the episodes. Hinga Pustak Talwar is a story of Kaustubh, Amit and their friends, and the time that they spend at this apartment which, in retrospect, are the best days of their lives.
